THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED; HOWEVER, WE DO VALUE GREAT TALENT AND CONTINUE TO ACCEPT OUTSTANDING APPLICATIONS.
Have you always wanted to work on an inspiring project that has the potential to both change your life and the lives of billions in the world? We believe that we have such a project that will change how the world connects and shares on their mobile devices. If you read our job posting for a Chief Networking Scientist and thought it was not quite right for you, we are hoping that this one may be the right fit. We are looking for someone (or possibly several individuals) to work closely with our Chief Networking Scientist to design and plan the future technologies that will connect the next billion users. You will have a deep understanding of networking and wireless mesh technologies; having helped build large-scale multi-vendor networks, helped design protocols, and possessed a good understanding of the network stack.
At the heart of our business is our revolutionary new mobile app called YO! which launched at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March 2015. YO! is the world’s first ‘Off-Grid’ messaging, sharing, and content discovery app that allows users to connect at high speeds without the need for cellular data or Internet. This new approach to decentralized networking empowers users to share videos, pictures, messages or even songs with friends at campus, colleagues at the office or family at home – fast and free! Our mission is to connect every person on the planet. Yep. Every single one of them.
Mobile technology has been growing at an exponential rate – not only in the developed world but even more so in emerging economies. We believe that the way telecom, communication, and media platforms work today is not sustainable to serve the millions and billions of new mobile Internet users in emerging and developed economies. New and innovative ideas need to be brought out to connect everyone on the planet (not just those who can afford it) – BUT in an efficient and affordable way.
We highly recommend that you read Our Story to fully understand the incredible opportunity that lies ahead. (https://www.yo.com/our-story)
Left of the Dot Media, winner of the 2015 Community Engagement Award at the Technology Impact Awards, is also the parent company of a number of successful web and mobile brands. Five years ago our co-founders made a huge decision to locate our offices out here in the family-oriented suburbs of Maple Ridge. We wanted to live and work in the same community so that we could give back in ways that were meaningful to all “Lefties” (this is what we call ourselves). With great accessibility to the surrounding suburbs of Langley, Surrey, Tri-Cities and more and only a 35-minute drive from Vancouver, Maple Ridge offers a great quality of life balanced with unique career opportunities with Left of the Dot.
Are you ready to change how the world connects and thinks about distributed networking with us?
