Marketing & Events Coordinator: Maple Ridge, BC

Are you someone who is eager to join an award-winning team and help drive our events and marketing efforts? We are looking for a marketing SUPERSTAR just waiting to be unleashed! You may be a recent graduate or have a few years of experience, but you are really looking for exciting projects to sink your teeth into and a great company culture. We are looking for an individual with a willingness to learn, grow, and adapt to the fast-paced, day-to-day activities that will be thrust upon you.
If you haven’t yet heard of Left, we’re a technology company based in the suburbs of Vancouver in Maple Ridge. Our award-winning Community Engagement Program and our top-notch culture have led us to win an award as “Best Workplace BC” and be recognized by the BC Tech Association as the best in BC for “work, life, and play”. At the heart of our business (what you’ll be working on) we’re building a platform to connect the next billion people without infrastructure using a fully-distributed mobile mesh network for smart phones & IoT devices. Our platform will enable affordable, reliable, resilient, and secure access to the internet and connectivity to all users.
Where does all this magic happen? We might just have the coolest office space in the Lower Mainland, complete with a games room, library, lots of beer, and plenty of silly people. We are purposefully located out in the ‘burbs so that our employees can live and work in their community. If you do commute it’s only 40 minutes against traffic from downtown Vancouver, and we’re just across the Golden Ears Bridge (now without tolls!), so we are extremely convenient for most in metro Vancouver region. And speaking of sky-high real estate prices, you actually have room to breathe out here and can afford to exhale. Are you ready to change the world yet? Are you ready to change the world with us?  Come on…you know you wanna 😉

  • 1 to 3 years of marketing, business management, or applicable sales/support experience

  • A passion for customer happiness and an upbeat, engaging personality
  • You have high expectations of yourself and others
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience and patience for customer support without being overly sarcastic (a little bit is fine)
  • Experience with market research and business planning
  • You don’t have to be a technologist, but being a geek with a fascination with technology is definitely useful
  • “Get it done” attitude, even if that means an occasional long day or late night of work

  • You must be a risk taker who has a passion for entrepreneurism.
  • We still classify ourselves as a Startup even though we are an international team of 90+ (We are presently approx. 30 in Maple Ridge and 60+ in Bangladesh.) As such, you must have an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to work in a Startup.
